About Us
The Northside church of Christ is a local family of Christians, joined by a common purpose. Our desire is to please God in every aspect of our lives - at work, at home, at play, and at worship.
One reason we come together each Lord’s day is to worship and praise God, our Father. Worship is a privilege and command that God has given us to express our deep adoration for His love, mercy and power. We take seriously the opportunity we have to worship together. It is our pleasure to welcome you to these services.
We meet each Sunday for Bible class at 9:30 A. M. and worship at 10:30 A. M. We provide Bible classes for adults and children of all ages.
God has not left man to do as he pleased in sacred affairs. The Northside church patterns its work after the New Testament order Philippians 4.9. So, as the New Testament directs, this church limits its labor to evangelism, edification and the care of certain needy saints.
At our assemblies you can expect worship to be in accordance with the scriptures and the pattern they provide including:
- On Sunday, the first day of the week, we observe the Lord’s Supper Acts 20.7; 1 Corinthians 11.24-26.
- We praise God and edify one another through singing (Acappella) as shown in the New Testament Colossians 3.16; Ephesians 5.19.
- We offer prayers of supplication and thanksgiving 1 Timothy 2.1-4.
- On Sunday, the first day of the week, we take up a collection, to give as we have prospered 1 Corinthians 16.1-2; 2 Corinthians 9.7. This is a means of supporting our work here at Northside. Visitors are under no obligation whatsoever to contribute to this collection. However, if money is contributed, please know that it will be used in a manner that is in keeping with the will of the Lord.
- We exhort one another to “continue steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine” through sermons Acts 2.42. All sermons are preached to exalt the Word of God above the will of man. We rely on the Bible as our sole source for doctrine and instruction 2 Timothy 3.16-17 and refer to it frequently in our classes and sermons. We encourage you to follow along in your Bible and study the scriptures with us Acts 17.11.
- At the conclusion of the sermon, anyone wishing to become a Christian or any Christian desiring the prayers of the Church will be given the opportunity to do so.
We always welcome questions, so feel free to ask! If there is something about your experience at Northside you want us to explain in more detail, or if you are interested in a home Bible study, we will be happy to do so at your convenience. Contact us anytime by clicking here!
